Valerie Messika, the Founder and Artistic Director, unveiled the Second Opus of the Midnight Sun High Jewelry collection, showcasing 125 stunning pieces at her fourth High Jewelry event.
The prestigious guests at the Paris show included Cardi B, Georgina Rodríguez , kelly rutherford, Nina Dobrev, and Cole Sprouse, along with Natalia Vodianova and Lucien Leon Laviscount, who are the faces of the Midnight Sun Opus II campaign. APAC brand ambassador gongjunhahaha and Friend of the Maison balqees fathi also attended.
With the High Jewelry collection Midnight Sun Opus 2, Maison Messika opens a new chapter in its 10-year history of Haute Joaillerie collections.
Midnight Sun was launched in 2023. This Haute Joaillerie collection is inspired by the parties of the 1970s—a tribute to the golden era, the vibe of the legendary New York Studio 54, and soul music. The sequel, Midnight Sun Opus 2, captures magical moments: the end of an exhilarating night and the dawn breaking on the horizon. The contrasts of day and night, light and darkness, come together in the jewelry pieces. Valérie Messika, the brand’s Creative Director and Founder, plays with contrasts and chiaroscuro in these creations—the result is extraordinary and glamorous jewelry sets.
White Midnight Sun – A Neo-Eighties Sensuality
The highlight is a massive necklace with a gentle curve, adorned with over 2,400 diamonds. Its centerpiece is a pear-shaped 3.55 ct diamond set in yellow gold. The diamond pavé creates an ultra-glamorous and almost hypnotic effect, evoking dreams of a night where anything seems possible.
Lunar Diva: Angel of the Night or Star of the Day
Lunar Diva is a reinterpretation of the Solar Diva set from Opus I. A fascinating diamond necklace with an emerald-cut diamond as its centerpiece embodies the moon in a starry night. This sculptural necklace is encrusted with over 700 diamonds in a snow setting, giving it a unique look. Nearly 400 hours of work were required to complete this masterpiece.
Diamond Frequencies: Simultaneous Contrasts
In Diamond Frequencies, contrasts are key, reminiscent of the play of light on a dance floor. Valérie Messika created oval “light capsules,” completely covered in sparkling diamonds. These opulent creations embody the flamboyant energy of the night.
Hypnotic Scale: The River, a Case of Light
Hypnotic Scale is a harmonious jewelry set, based on the unity of quality and brilliance of diamonds ranging from 0.10 to 2.70 ct. The stones are perfectly aligned by size, creating a sense of harmony. The teardrop-shaped settings add both tension and subtle depth.
